I have been a computer nerd most of my life. I started out on a Tandy TRS-80, learned BASIC programming on an Apple IIC, and then a IBM compatible 486sx25. As a child I started an online bulletin board system which endlessly tied up my parents’ telephone lines so that others could use their dial-up modems to send messages or play text-based games.
In high school and college, I worked at multiple internet service providers doing technical support and network engineering. In undergrad, I studied both accounting and computers at Northwood University. After college, I graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. My background in computers naturally led me to defending various white collar and computer crimes in state and federal courts.
I have tried jury trials to verdict in 23 of Michigan’s 83 counties as well as in federal court and the State of Texas. I have cross examined computer experts from local police and sheriff’s offices from around Michigan, the FBI, Homeland Security, the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, and other agencies.
After extensive training and an intensive knowledge and skills test, I was award the GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner credential in 2019. I am a licensed professional investigator in Michigan (#3701207807) and am also admitted to practice law in:
